It looks like John Edwards is set to announce his canidacy!
According to USA Today
Edwards, a former senator who ran as John Kerry's vice presidential nominee in 2004, has decided he can compete in 2008. He is planning to announce his campaign in New Orleans between Christmas and New Year's, two Democrats said.
Edwards' novel choice of sites shows how he wants to distinguish his candidacy: emphasizing policies he believes can unite a country divided by economic inequality, a situation no more evident than in the city's Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood, still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
Neither Hillary nor Barack have announced yet, but it looks like we've got our field pretty well laid out. With Edwards, Obama, and Hillary in the race, it's practically a pipe dream for anyone else wishing to try. Edwards still beats Vilsack in Iowa, and as Kos pointed out, the primary schedule is practically hand-made for an Edwards or an Obama win. It looks like the only one that can make this more than a three-way race is Al Gore, who is still saying he has no intention of running, and I may be the only one left who believes him when he says it.
