How Stupid Is Brian Nick?
You know things are falling apart in the Party of Greed when an aspiring gubernatorial candidate in North Carolina has to scrape the bottom of the competency barrel to find help with his hapless campaign. The Charlotte Observer broke the story yesterday.
Salisbury lawyer Bill Graham says he is not officially running for the Republican nomination for governor, but he now has an unofficial campaign strategist. Brian Nick, a veteran of Sen. Elizabeth Dole's office and of national Republican politics, has signed on as a senior adviser to Graham's N.C. Conservatives United.
For the past two years, Nick has run the communications operation at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which Dole chaired. The group recruits and supports Senate candidates across the country. Prior to that post, he was Dole's communications director. (Emphasis added.)
So let's get this straight. Bill Graham, a no-name Republican hack with more money than sense is betting his gubernatorial ambitions on Brian Nick, the genius who masterminded Dole's magical campaign to maintain Republican control of the US Senate? Should be fun.
That's probably all you need to know about Brian Nick, but a quick stroll through the Internets (various sites) is required to reveal his true brilliance.
Bob Casey, Jr ... Sen. Santorum is going to eat his lunch ...
Maine has been a state they're (Dems) talking about ... Virginia has been a state they're talking about ... and they're nowhere ...
The NRSC represents the majority of the views of the U.S. senators, and Senator Dole's personal positions come from her personal office
Katherine Harris is the candidate
The bottom line is that Republicans have worked with President Bush to enact policies that kept America safe during the war on terror. The Democratic alternative is political stunts and gimmicks, and that's not an alternative Americans will choose when it comes to their safety in the 2006 elections.
Today the News and Observer follows up with more brilliance from the boy wonder.
Nick will also be senior strategist for N.C. Conservatives United, which is Graham's political committee. But that committee is likely to morph into Graham's gubernatorial campaign if, as expected, he announces for governor.
The move by Nick could generate more gossip that Dole does not plan to seek a second term in 2008. But Nick says that is nonsense. "She is fully committed to running," Nick said. "Honestly, the fact that rumors come from the Democratic Party should tell you what they are worth. That is wishful thinking." (emphasis added)
Anybody with half a brain, which obviously excludes Brian Nick, knows that progressive Democrats in North Carolina totally support the Very Senior Senator running for reelection. We can spot losers a mile away, and these days, they're like fish in a barrel. Which only goes to show how little Mr. Nick understands politics here in the Old North State.
But come to think of it, Brian Nick apparently doesn't understand politics anywhere based on his sparkling record of inane comments. He also doesn't understand that joining Bill Graham's campaign for governor is like climbing into a hearse on the way to the cemetery.
What a frickin' idiot - and a perfect match for Bill Graham.
Current Lt. Gov. (and soon-to-be-announced candidate for governor in 2008) Beverly Perdue would SO kick Graham's ass if he survived the primary. Which he won't. The Inner Sanctum of the Party of Greed only going to back one Puppet in this race, and that's going to be Bob Orr.
Happily, Bob Orr won't win the primary either. That's because the NCGOP "Inner Sanctum" is discredited and irrelevant. The Republican primary winner will be Fred "the Asphalt King" Smith. He'll challenge Beverly Perdue in the general, and he's going to get his ass kicked too.
Nice.
