Remember how much ballyho there was when Sergeant Wuterich accused Rep. Murtha of "slandering" him back in August?
Attorneys for Frank D. Wuterich, 26, argue in court papers that Murtha tarnished the Marine's reputation by telling news organizations in May that the Marine unit cracked after a roadside bomb killed one of its members and that the troops "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Murtha also said repeatedly that the incident was covered up.

Each of the Marines was charged in multiple slayings, but Staff Sgt. Frank D. Wuterich, 26, a squad leader with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, was implicated in 18 deaths. Wuterich faces 13 counts of unpremeditated murder.

So much for the slander allegation. Sgt. Wuterich may or may not be guilty - but he'll sure have a hard time proving damage to his reputation from Rep. Murtha's claims...
