It's also apparently
shocking and
gross. And these are the opinions of women -- with children.
"I'm totally supportive of it - I just don't like the flashing," she says. "I don't want my son or husband to accidentally see a breast they didn't want to see."
More lunacy below.
These women are responding to a Babytalk magazine cover that shows a baby pressed up against something that looks like a large breast. I say "looks like" like because the camera angle of the photo is such that you can't see the baby's mouth or any part of the mom's nipple. Ooh, I just typed
mom's nipple. Oooh, that turns me on just typing it, I'll be right back. /snark
So here is how we teach our children about sexuality in the good old USA:
One mother who didn't like the cover explains she was concerned about her 13-year-old son seeing it.
"I shredded it," said Gayle Ash, of Belton, Texas, in a telephone interview. "A breast is a breast - it's a sexual thing. He didn't need to see that."
So maybe this is the kind of lack of exposure to biology and things sexual that leads to
"Men are very visual," says Wheatley, 40, of Amarillo, Texas. "When they see a woman's breast, they see a breast - regardless of what it's being used for."
These are not quotes from the 1950s by the way. This is a story up on AOL from right now. That link features the magazine cover as well, for you perverts out there.
Maybe I'm just out of step with the times, but are men really that sexually aroused by nursing? When my wife nursed, she was feeding my child. The last thing I wanted to do in the middle of that was jump her bones. I mean the thought just plain didn't occur. It wasn't sexy in the least. Do I just lack imagination somehow?
