If you disagree with most of the world's value's, then you disagree with most of what the world says and does. You might even disagree with yourself at times, assuming that you, like many, have not fully incorporated your values into your subconscious. Therefore, do not expect, or desire, to agree with others who fundamentally disagree with you. If you sense a different value system at work in a person and foresee problems regarding communication or action, then do your best to avoid that person or his or her influence if at all possible. In the same way, if you experience a disagreeable feeling, thought process, or habit arising from within your own mind, then do your best to eliminate it, replacing it with a more agreeable response. The point is to understand what you value and to consistently act on it. If your values preclude understanding by their very nature, then they are irrational by their very nature and you cannot possibly remain true to them. The only practical values are rational ones.
