Ok, so I am watching the Super Bowl pregame show. This is the last place I figure to see anything political. It is supposed to be a game for everyone, a celebration of American culture, a quasi-holiday.
But guess what, coming back from a commerical, the jerks at ABC have a picture of Bill Clinton and a voiceover saying "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" mixed in with random NFL plays.
Why? Does that make any sense?
Then I remembered that the people at ABC tried hard to put Rush Limbaugh as a Monday Night Football analyst before the players objected.
Then a few years later put Rush in the ESPN studio, where he could give great insight as "Voice of the Fan". It only took him two weeks before he resigned/ was fired because he said an Africian-American quarterback wasn't that good, but the MEDIA wanted to see him do well.
ABC also has Al Michaels as the play by play commentator for the game. In the past few years he as often mixed in his passionate Republican views ( see Mediamatters.org )
Now the 1998 Clinton clip for the 2006 Superbowl pregame show.
I am sure there are other examples, but I hate ABC. Can't we just watch the Superbowl withouth the politics?
