We here in the blogosphere, the internet blog pundits, the Dems with our heads on straight have been crying out in utter disbelief and disappointment at the unwillingness for the rest of the Democratic Party (i.e. its Senators and Congresspeople) to listen up and do the right thing. I mean how hard can it be? Polls have Bush's approval rating at 34% and falling, the polls about the midterms have 50% of Americans wanting a Democratic-led congress next time around, and almost 70% are against the war in Iraq and don't think it made us safer (well, duh, what took the rest of you so long?).
And yet, Democrats, including Kerry and Kennedy, from my very blue state of Massachusetts, who have both done good things as Democrats, seem to not quite know how to handle many of the biggest issues that have come up over the last few years. Neither man has committed to Feingold's censure motion (Kerry was supposedly going to do so, but I have seen no firm commitment yet). Kennedy hasn't made a peep. And only 2 or 3 have signed on with Feingold? What gives?
From The Patriot Act (including its recent renewal), the war in Iraq, the Roberts nomination, the Alito filibuster, why is it so hard for Democrats to stand up for what we as Democrats, as well as many others now, want? Where's your backbone people? Forget what it feels like to have one? Really, if you want one, it will really make you feel better. You will begin to stand up, seeing what is before you, rather than staring down at the ground, ignoring what's going. Some say standing erect, with good posture even helps with hearing and thinking clearly. Who know? It's worth a try.
Here's what one looks like:

Perhaps we can just get a new game started. Someone clever here on the Kos, who knows how to do all the cool pictures and stuff could come up with a picture of the Democrat donkey with no backbone. Then you get little backbones to pin on them. To hell with the tail. These jokers need much more help than that!
From around the country, Dems too afraid to stand up keep saying that they want to wait for the mid-terms, or 2008. They don't want to rock the boat, gotta "keep their powder dry." WTF? I'm sorry, but we're crying out for them to stand up for what is right. You can only be blind if you cannot see the wrongs perpetrated by this administration. Don't stand down, stand up! You should be on the floor every day, hammering home the crimes of this administration. C'mon, be a Wellstone, be a Feingold. Fight for what is right. Fight for us.
Keep you powder dry? For chrissakes guys, if the founding fathers felt that way, we'd never have had a country!
