will take you to a story about how whiny, insecured children tend to grow up to be Republicans. I haven't read the actual study described in the report, so I'm just relying on the report itself, but it's not at all surprising that this would be the case. The essential findings are that insecure, unconfident, poorly adjusted kids find the certainty and security they crave in the form of rigid, conformist ideology.
I find this study to be interesting for two reasons, the first of which is that it provides further proof (as if we need any more) that Republicans are essentially cowards. They are defined by their fear(s). They respond overwhelmingly to the Bushco message of fear and hate. We knew all that already. Now it turns out that they start out in life as repulsive as they end up.
The second reason I think this study is interesting is that it shows ho empty the Repubs are inside. Their politics is essentially founded on negativity -- they are in effect the sum of the their hatreds. Without someone or something to hate, they would be nothing at all.
