Benny had a post yesterday that went up around the time this whole thing blew up. It's not there anymore. I noticed it as soon as I looked this morning (expecting to see a note that Ben had to spend more time with his pachyderms) and went looking for it.
Update [2006-3-24 11:32:1 by Earl]: It hasn't been pulled entirely, it's simply not on the Red America blog. Very strange. Thanks to Slim Tyranny for letting me know. And I'm going to leave the diary up for the oddness of the move, for the odd links to Redstate, and so anybody who wants to can join the search for bits of stolen goodness at Red America. [End]
Jane at Firedoglake noticed it too and found the cached version the post at WaPo, but not in the Red America blog. It's called The Plight of the Minority Republican.
It had to plagiarized, I thought. Why else would they take it down? So I went looking. I haven't found it yet, but I found something.
More below (and I wrote it all myself).
I started googling phrases in the piece, and finally went with "You fight crazy with crazy," which turned
fighting Chickenhawk Ben on. What did I get? I got Ben. At
Redstate. From June, 2005.
RE: JOHN THOMPSON [Augustine]Doverspa: He even told an anecdote on air about being in line at his polling place, and getting the Republican voter guide. A wealthy white woman in line ahead of him reacted: "You want that one?" He replied: "I don't think it's any of your business to presume which one I want."
I liked the Coach before that, and loved him after._Posted at 06/23/2005 06:08:20 PM EST - #
RE: ROVE [Augustine]_I remember listening to one of the most popular talk radio shows in Washington D.C. - the John Thompson show, hosted by the former Georgetown coach - prior to election day. In his vibrant bass, the Coach was talking to his nasally and very white colleague (a Democrat) about why he was voting for Bush, not Kerry.
"We're fightin' crazy, Al," he said. "You don't fight crazy with board meetings and hand wringing and therapy. You fight crazy with crazy."
I liked that._Posted at 06/23/2005 05:46:39 PM EST - #
I don't think ben plagiarizing from his comments at Redstate is enough to get the piece pulled from the WaPo, but who knows?
Help me out. Let's find out where Ben stole other pieces of that article from. And we might as well check all his posts, since plagiarism seems to be a it of an obsession with him.
Oh, and here's FleetAdmiral's Comprehensive Library of Domenechism.
[UPDATE II] Domenech edited Malkin's latest book, which, as all us swingers know, is Unhinged. Think about that. A serial plagiarizer edited the work of a Serail Attack Weasel of the Rabid-Right. There has to be stolen material in it. There HAS to be. Let's find it.
Anybody got Malkin's book?[End second update]
