Ah, sometimes, when you open your e-mail account, you just don't know what you'll find...
Many of you may remember my travails a few months back with my boss from hell. I asked the Kossack community for help and advice regarding my two months of hell I endured. To refresh your memory, you can read about the whole saga starting here, continuing here, and wrapping up here and here.
I've tried to put the whole horrid experience out of mind...until today, when I opened my e-mail and it all rushed back at once.
I got an e-mail from an unfamiliar person asking if I worked for my old boss in 2005. I replied, yes, that's me. I worried about what it could be about. The unfamiliar person wrote back, asking about my old boss, because this person ended up working for him after I left.
And, surprise, surprise, this person encountered some of the same problems I did, including the fact that old boss didn't pay his employees on time.
This person lasted longer than I did (5 months), but she was doing some research on older employees and found me. Apparently, we had met at some point when the old boss was interviewing for a new associate.
After reading this e-mail, I told this person to give me a call to discuss things. The person hasn't called yet, but I can give them an earful.
The only thing on my mind now is whether I should report the old boss to the state bar commission for discipline. He appears quite unstable to me, not to mention the fact, as I pointed out before, that he is maintaining an office in a state where he is unlicensed.
I don't want to take that step, frankly, because the moment is behind me, but for you attorneys/professionals out there, what would you do?
I guess the one saving grace in all of this is that I have confirmed, once and for all, that I'm not the one who was nuts.
Kinda figured that, but it's good to get confirmation...
