Someone has finally done what I've been doing for several years. Take a look at Barry Bonds' rookie card and then
take a look at him now.
This whole steroid issue is a lot like politics in America. Everyone ignores the fucking obvious. If you have ever played sports or lifted a weight in your life you KNOW Bonds is juicing. You don't all of a sudden take on the form of a body builder in your thirties without serious drug use. And the next time you hear some formerly skinny actor say they "put on 30 pounds of muscle for the part... because they worked out hard for 3 months" you can be damn sure they took steroids. If it was possible to put on 30 lbs of muscle by working out for 3 months without using drugs a lot more people would do it. And you can lift all the weights in the world and it won't change your facial structure. Look at Bond's head. Enough said.
So, we are finally waking up to the fact that most major league baseball players (and NFL players and anyone who gets paid millions to play a game) are on drugs. Many of us knew this for quite some time. It is OBVIOUS. What will it take to have the media wake up to the fact that Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Gonzalez are lying constantly? How can the Attorney General of the US show up to "testify" to the Senate and the Republican Senators say, "should we swear him in...nah...we swore in those baseball players when they testified about steriods...that was serious...but this is the AG...and we are just talking about how the president broke the law and is ignoring the constitution....let's not swear him in"...how can that happen and every media person and politican in the country does not just laugh and call them out for the liars they are? When will we stop ignoring the obvious? Our constitution is becoming as much of a joke as the home run records in baseball. But in both cases the corporations are making record profits so perhaps I should take my advice and wake up to that OBVIOUS fact. If there are record profits to be made, we all can just keep looking the other way.
