I have to admit all this fear, all this sadness over what we have lost, all this threatening to leave the country that I see on this site is making me physically ill!
Stop the pity party, we can't afford to wallow now. We have elections to win, and we are giving THEM power by showing a tired, sad, defeated face.
It's self-indulgent. And it occasionally borders on being the flip side of those stupid DHS security alerts. (props to ultrageek on that one, see link below)

Bravery occurs by facing one's fears, so stop the wallowing and fight for your country.
We have survived the trail of tears, Japanese internment camps, slavery, racism, sexism, 3-mile island, Exxon Valdez,
assasination of some of our greatest leaders.
Go to their grave sites and tell them you are leaving. Tell them, thanks for nothing. You fought, but I am just too scared, too lost, too worried. OR...
Take heart that those who are MOST affected by this country's current fascist leanings are taking to the streets in what Democracy Now calls the largest protest movement in our country's history.
I know most of you aren't going to leave, that most will stay and fight. They will have to take my freedom, and those of my neighbors from my cold, dead hands.
With grim determination, we need to work towards what we KNOW is right.
Anyone with me?
