Just posted on the
NYTimes Web site:
"...the Bush administration is exploring a more radical measure to protect information it says is vital to national security: the criminal prosecution of reporters under the espionage laws."
Rather than simply play by the books and run an honest war on terror, the crooks in the WH lean back on their favorite weapon: fear.
Is it a Texas based thing? Seems all Bush's cronies (Cornyn, Gonzales, Bush, Rove, etc.) have a tendency to lean to a fear factor when threatened. What happened to backbone? I thought the boys from Texas were supposed to be big strong guys, not girlie men. Seems my assumption is wrong... when presented with a fight, these boys take the underhanded sissy way out.
Prosecute whomever you want boys, you can't hide. One day, y'all gonna get yers, heh!: "Critics of the administration position say that altering the conventional understanding between the press and government could have dire consequences." Like possibly voting these asswipes and the Repug party out of the majority. It's one thing to release information that will harm the country when justified, and a completely different story when the information simply uncovers illegal activity condoned by a sleazy government in power.
