On Monday, Bush said the IEDs being used in Iraq were coming from Iran.
On Tuesday, Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he had no proof that Iran was behind the Iraqi IEDs.
Today, the WaPo, which evidently has sources that the Joint Chiefs don't, claims: "In Iraq...American soldiers are dying from Iranian-supplied roadside bombs."
This is bullshit. They don't know this, and the whole premise is utterly ridiculous. Bush made the addled claim that Iran is "providing Shia militia with the capability to build improvised explosive devises in Iraq." But it's not the Shi'ites who are blowing us up - it's the Sunni insurgency, and the Sunnis and Shi'ites are enemies.
Anyone who's been paying any attention should be able to figure this out. But the WaPo finds it easier to just repeat the latest Bush talking points than to actually think.
