Hola Coca-Colas, tonight wonderful Kossak AdvisorJim will be doing a reading at the Barnes & Noble in the West Village at 395 Avenue of the Americas(the one that's near all the shoe stores on 8th Street). For those who aren't big shoe shoppers, it's also near the West 4th/Wash. Sq. subway stop. He will be appearing at 7:00 and hopefully there will be TONS of New York Kossaks there to buy his book and support the heck out of him.
More below
If there's enough of a group, after the reading we're going to head to a local pub called Boxer's to hang out for a while longer. Boxer's is located at 190 West 4th St. Here's a
link from CitySearch. (I honestly don't know if I can do that cause my son has a huge test on all the countries of Africa tomorrow. His middle school has been a very educational experience for me!)
If you haven't had a chance to read Jim's diaries, here's a link to them: http://www.dailykos.com/... More than just an ex-ditto head, Jim has always impressed me not only as a good story teller, but also a good person. And I'll bet by this point in his tour, he's probably on the weary side so it'd be nice if we could get a bunch of people out to support him and feed him some Big Apple energy. I don't remember where, but I once remember reading a book that included the advice that one should always show kindness to travelers. I don't know about you, but I think that is one of my ten commandments.
For what it's worth, I hope dear, nice Jim came to New York with some extra clothes! I don't know about you, but I'm sitting here in a sweat shirt with a sweater layered on top of it. I wore my parka when I drove my son to school this morning! My neighbor Manny thinks this is the new climate: a mild winter followed by a very cool and rainy spring that doesn't warm up until sometime in June. Manny is not a meteorologist, but I think he's right.
