In the spirit of the house debates over the war resolution deadline I would humbly like to proffer this quick-and-easy way to spot a terrorist:
People of the Muslim faith who wear the traditional "kufi" and long, collarless tunics while sporting the whole Paul-Bunyan-minus-the-moustache look are most likely NOT terrorists. This would be the equivalent of racist sporting his hood'n'sheets to work - just a little too obvious and not at all covert.
Take a look at all the guys involved in the 9/11 incident - facial hair? No. Kufi? No. Long "ethnic" clothing? No. So what were they wearing? By the looks of it - pleated khakis, ugly polo shirts and cheap sneakers.
Instead of looking in mosques and other such institutions to root out cells, where we really should be looking is the bargain basement at Sears. Terrorists have to save their funding for explosives, safe houses, vehicle rentals and tickets - this doesn't leave much for Saks or even Banana Republic.
So the lesson here is this: when looking for someone who stands out, look for someone who looks just like the average middle-manager in any business district in the U.S.
This has been a public service announcement from the Ministry of Sartorial Identification.
