Jane Harman is doing a great job of putting a spotlight on her dismal record on privacy and constitutional rights by running away from it. Marcy Winograd understands that, and Kossacks judged for themselves that her

Jane Harman's diary from today was worthy of highlighting for that very reason. Politicians should be accountable for their voting records and actions in office, not just during election season.
Marcy's diary cast a light on Harman's own record which is at odds with her current positioning as protector of our Constitutional rights. Harman's diary tried to present herself to be something she's not, and Marcy rightfully took her to task.
Harman couldn't have teed this one up any better for Winograd, and she hit it out of the ballpark. Harman could have defended her record on issues affecting our government spying on its own citizens by spinning it in the most favorable way possible. It would have been bull - "we need to give up our rights to protect our country from terrorists, blah blah blah", but at least it wouldn't have been denying what she's been up to.
Instead, she chose to claim that she believes the exact opposite that her actions in office would indicate. For that, she was appropriately set straight by Marcy Winograd.
