I know this means nothing and I guess that means in this forum this diary is a waste of a diary slot. For that I apologize. I take some solace in the knowledge that this diary will never take up any space on the recommended diary list.
But alas, I have found myself yet again confronted with an assumption. This assumption is that Chuck Schumer doesn't like John Tester.
And while I'm sure those more knowledgable than I can tell the stories of Schumer's shenanigans in Montana, I still feel compelled to point out some facts that those people won't tell you.
1. Schumer is funding Tester.

Other state Democratic organizations that benefited from the DSCC's largess include those in Missouri ($200,000), where state Auditor Claire McCaskill is challenging Republican Sen. Jim Talent, and Montana ($173,000), where state Senate President Jon Tester on June 6 won the nomination to take on Republican Sen. Conrad Burns.
.....
Notable transfers to state Democratic parties:
* Nebraska: $573,895
* Missouri: $200,000
* Montana: $173,000
* Maryland: $100,000
* Ohio: $100,000
* Rhode Island: $100,000
2. Schumer thinks Tester is electable and will win.

Schumer also said electability was a factor in Montana's June 6 Senate Democratic primary, in which state Senate President Jon Tester was nominated to challenge vulnerable Republican Sen. Conrad Burns. Schumer said he had preferred Tester, who outpolled state Auditor John Morrison even though he was significantly outspent in the primary.
There's some other info in these articles. A full reading of them will support some misgivings about Schumer's strategies, but debunk some as well. The DSCC is kicking the NRSC's butt. But while a Comcast CEO is listed there, so is Candice Bergen.
But for now, all i want to point out is: any idea that Chuck Schumer won't support any netroots people powered candidates might merit some further consideration.
(just a side note, i wonder if sending 500k to the Nelson re-election campaign in Nebraska means he supports Dean's 50 state project. I mean. It's supporting a dem. In a really red state..... nah. nevermind.)
