Nov 2 John McCain goes up for re-election. He'll win, probably by a landslide, but I'm having trouble figuring out how I should vote.
Kossaks, help me decide: (poll appended)
On one hand, I am nonplussed by his outright endorsement of Bush... in my eyes, he's a political sell-out. He's probably at least one Republican senator who could have taken a political risk against Bushco.
On the other hand, word on the street is Bush-Republicans round here are saying they won't vote for McCain. Such is there disdain for anyone who'll dare question their Chimpander-in-chief. McCain, they complain, didn't do enough, because he didn't smear fellow-war-hero Kerry.
Nothing would please me better than to vote against this -ahem- "moral majority".
A vote against McCain would be a protest vote, a shot (more like a gentle glance) across the bow to McCain, to narrow his margin of victory.
On the other hand, if he does win more narrowly, he might get the wrong message. He might think voters were punishing him for not supporting Bush enough, and not libeling Kerry like the rest of the stormtroopers have.
So, Kossaks, I turn to you. What, o what should I do?
