And if you could be refused coverage if you had a pre-existing condition - such as a 3 year old.
And if nobody ever questioned the Insurers right to refuse you your education insurance because of course its true, after all there's your 3 year old!
What were you thinking! Education insurance would only be readily available for the post-menopausal, just like now: if you're sick you can't get treatment, idiot!
You have a pre existing condition!
Thats how dumb Medical Insurance seems to someone who grew up with free healthcare.
I grew up in New Zealand where we had free healthcare.
It just worked - like free schools, free firemen and free police worked.
Thank goodness, we have still (some, not so great) free education left for our kids, here. Thank goodness we still have free firetrucks come and put out a fire in our house. Thank goodness we still have free police protection here.
But they too would all become prohibitively expensive if we had to pay an Insurance company for these common goods, as Healthcare is now, here...
Healthcare will always cost more and be less available if there is an insurance company involved. Their business is making sure that they only provide healthcare to those who don't need it.
It bothers me to hear people advocate for Universal Healthcare Insurance. Get the middleman out of it, to make it work.
