Hope the following is informative to those of you who are following the attempted theft of an election by RightWing Extremists in Mexico.
I. A columnist of centrist newspaper, El Universal, yesterday wrote a compelling column arguing for the possible annulment of the elections.
By law, third-parties can't buy ad time for or against a candidate. Yet, many corporations and corporate lobbying groups did just that.
AMLO and his campaign would file a complaint immediately, but the IFE would take weeks to act, thereby allowing these RightWing Business groups to disseminate their lies (ie. calling AMLO fiscally irresponsible, when the fact is that S&P, Moody's and Fitch all praised AMLO's fiscal resp. as Mayor of Mexico City).

One egregious example, in the column below, was that of the RightWing business group, CCE, whose members have enjoyed the impunity granted to them by the PRI and the PAN. Please note that the CCE also assisted the impeachment campaign against AMLO last year.

-----------------------------------------------
Summary of the above paragraphs.
CCE spent about 160M pesos in 15 days.
Jumex spent about 1.5M dollars.
Center for Leadership and Human Development spent 1.6M dollars.
The three organizations above spent a total of about 200M pesos, or 33% of the total spending limit allowed of presidential candidate.
Article 48 of the Copife explicitly prohibits the airing of political ads for or against a candidate by third parties.

Again, please note that AMLO promptly informed IFE of these violations, but IFE did nothing for weeks.
Given the margin of the reported tally, and these and other transgressions, annulment is a possibility.

II. Please be informed that RightWing Thugs are engaging in violent acts in Mexico, and taking Mexico to the precipice of a cataclysmic event. The Right in Mexico, like the Right in this country, is largely responsible for the polarized state of Mexico.
Just a couple of days ago, a few RightWing thugs decided to violently deface many banners in Mexico City. When asked about the violence, the head of the PAN considered the incident a minor one, and went on to insult the artists who had made the banners, by denigrating their artistic quality. (the Right in Mexico, like the Right in this country, have very little regard for art and artists)
For a more thorough account of the RightWing violence, please see.....

III. Please be advised that Jorge Ramos, lead anchor for Univision Network News, has asked for a recount of the votes.

I would consider Jorge Ramos to be a Centrist, and it is not too surprising that he would support AMLO.
His primary competitor in the Spanish-language news market is Pedro Sevcec, a RightWing anchor who, during the 2000 Florida fiasco, asked Gore to admit defeat, and "move on".

IV. Please be informed that Calderon's wife is also a RightWing fanatic. On World AIDS day in 1994, she refused to accept condoms being passed out during a government function.

Also, please be advised that Calderon has refused to accept the scientific community's consensus on the effect of the morning-after pill. Calderon has stated that he refuses to believe scientists who contend that the morning-after pill does not induce abortion.

A Calderon regime would be MUCH more reactionary than even Bush's administration in this country. He would set back Mexico 100s of years.

V. Please note that centrist and progressive Mexicans are initiating boycotts against companies that publicly backed RightWing Calderon.

VI. Please don't be fooled by the lies that suggest only the poor supported AMLO. Nothing could be further from the truth. I worked with many Mexican nationals in a Mexico City I-Bank, and I will assure you that over 90% of them are AMLO supporters. Moreover, I will say that over 80% of the Stanford and Harvard grads I know that are in Mexico and had an opportunity to vote, supported AMLO.
Centrists and progressives supported AMLO on July 2, while the more regressive, uneducated elements of Mexico supported the RightWing candidate.
