There appears to be some serious ambiguity about where, exactly the Hezbollah capture of the two IDF soldiers took place. Some sources are saying that the hostage-taking actually took place inside Lebanon, near the village of Aytash Chaab.
As this incident has given Israel its main casus belli to attack Lebanon, then this is very interesting and extremely important point, if it's true. I've searched far and wide for any corroboration of this, and although I've found some curious, suspicious drift in official statements, there is virtually zero information about the details of the Hezbollah attack.
Initially, everyone, including the Bush Whitehouse reacted by stating that Hezbollah had attacked, killed 8 IDF soldiers and taken 2 IDF hostage after a "cross-border" attack into Israel. But although the corporate media continues to describe the attacks that way, in 'official statements' the Bush administration has since stopped ascribing an actual location of the hostage-taking incident.
The most comprehensive account of the incident which I can find is Wikipedia, which says:
"...A Hezbollah team then moved 200 meters into the Israeli territory, attacked two armoured IDF Humvees patrolling on the Lebanese border near the Israeli village of Zar'it with anti-tank rockets[citation needed]killing three soldiers, wounding three, and taking two in captivity to Lebanon's territory, to what Hezbollah has described as a "safe place"...."
(note Wikipedia comment: "citation needed" ~Ing)
Given the ambiguity and the importance of the issue, we need some answers to this question:
Did Hezbollah Capture the IDF Soldiers in Israel, or in Lebanon?
Some accounts are claiming that the Israeli soldiers currently held by Hezbollah were actually captured inside Lebanon, as opposed to the prevalent line that Hezbullah invaded Israel to capture them. For example:

Here's the prevalent line from the G-8 leaders Joint Statement re the hostilities:
"...In Lebanon, Hizbollah, in violation of the Blue Line, attacked Israel from Lebanese territory and killed and captured Israeli soldiers,..."
Here's another example of the prevalent line, this time from Bush mouthpiece Tony Snow in the July 18, 2006 Press Gaggle :
"...But, again, as the President said, this began because Hezbollah crossed into Israeli territory, kidnapped two soldiers..."
For example, from the Austin Statesman, July 23, 2006 :
"...Hezbollah commandos, operating out of southern Lebanon, crossed into Israeli territory July 12 and captured two Israeli soldiers. Eight other Israeli soldiers died in fighting that day...."
The White House messaging is ambiguous. This quote from the official White House Statement :
"...Today Hizballah terrorists operating from Lebanon kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and launched rocket attacks against civilian targets in Israel...."
So what really happened out there? The world needs to know!
