I just finished reading an EXCELLENT article by John Nichols released today to be published in the Nation Magazine. summary below.

Please go vote to recommend the article - and I obviously have to specify, given some of the mis-directed comments below - to READ NICHOLS' ARTICLE as well
The article gives a fantastic summary/bio on Ned Lamont, the premise of the article is drawing
a parallel between Lamont v. Lieberman today and Kennedy v. Johnson in 1968.
Bottom line - Lamont comes from good stock. Not just good, but beyond fantastic. Lamont comes from an EXCELLENT lineage of public service and whatever anybody donated to his campaign - you certainly didn't pay enough, because this guy is beyond awesome. His service to our country would be absolutely beyond calculating a price. priceless, honestly
Nichols rightly discerns that the struggle to recapture Connecticut away from the Bush lovers is not just a study in vanity by liberals, but a fight for the soul of the party and the soul of our country. It's about setting our national priorities - $250 million A DAY on a blackhole, but let them bitch about low income taxpayers using the earned income tax credit and draining every red cent from every program that makes this country great.
Who better to be the voice of the soul of the party than someone whose:
Great-grandfather, Thomas Lamont, was one of Woodrow Wilson's negotiators on the Treaty of Versailles. (compare contrast to Condi's hand to forehead tick and timely shoe shopping expeditions).
Great-uncle, Corliss was a leading figure in the ACLU and a founder of the National Emergency Civil Liberties Committee that successfully sued the CIA on domestic spying. (NSA spying program and the useless Torture Czar today)
Father, Ted, helped administer the Marshall Plan after World War II and served in HUD. (hello, Katrina mismanagement)
..And did you know that Ned Lamont VOLUNTEERS as a public school teacher? What other millionaire members of the Bush Patriots or sorry-ass members of the republican party do you know who have this resume?
Anyways, for someone not from Connecticut, this article was an excellent primer on why it's critical for Lamont to win this primary. I just wish I knew people in Connecticut to harass and get to the polls.
