I've mentioned in some of my comments on the CT-Sen primary that my father (83) registered as a Democrat for the first time to vote for Lamont. Yesterday I sent him a copy of Rusty1776's wonderful tribute to CT voters entitled
We Will Never Know Their Names.
I thought you might be interested in seeing my Dad's reply (below the fold).
I am pleased that I played a part in the ouster of Lieberman. He was a good Democrat in the past, but because of his support of Bush and his policies he had to go. It is interesting to see how the Republican spin doctors are trying to downplay the significance of what happened. The Democratic party in Connecticut has NOT been taken over by the far left bloggers who want to "cut and run" and ignore national security, and want to wallow in all kinds of immoral and un-American sinful behavior. I did not read a single blog, and you know my history of service to America and my moral character. It was more than the single issue of the war. It was a rejection of Bush, his policies, his Party and anyone who supports them. That is what was behind my vote and I think that is what motivated the others who voted against Lieberman.
It is not over yet. Lieberman has lost what respect I had for him by making his decision to run as an Independent Democrat. He has been in Washington too long.
And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. And friends, they may thinks it's a movement.

Friends, I think we've got us a movement here.
