The GOP proudly proclaims:
Conservative values are at the heart of the Republican Party, and the hard work of conservatives was integral to the historic Republican successes in 2000, 2002, and 2004.

And the new poster child for the values at the heart of the Republican Party...
The new Republican party embraces a Senator with the following voting record:
Americans for Democratic Action: 80
League of Conservation Voters: 100
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees: 86
American Civil Liberties Union: 83
National Organization of Women: 75
NAACP: 85
Human Rights Campaign: 88
League of United Latin American Citizens: 100
NARAL: 75 (based in large part on his Roberts vote; in 2004, it was 100)
Planned Parenthood: 100
Alliance for Retired Americans: 100 (their big issue: protecting Social Security)
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence: 90
His record from Conservative graders:
National Right-to-Life: 0
NRA: F (NRA gives grades rather than numerical scores)
American Conservative Union: 0
Christian Coalition: 0
The American Conservative Union rating deserves more attention:
Senator Joseph Lieberman (D)
Connecticut
2004 Score - 0
Previous Year's Score - 0
Lifetime Score - 17
Years of Service - 16
When the "I'm a uniter not a divider" Republican party looked forward to the 2002 elections, which bi-partisan targets did it choose because they were too far left to be in Congress? Let's look at the ACU rating for two of the targets.
Senator Max Cleland (D)
Georgia
2002 Score - 35
Previous Year's Score - 36
Lifetime Score - 16
Years of Service - 6
Senator Jean Carnahan (D)
Missouri
2002 Score - 15
Previous Year's Score - 28
Lifetime Score - 19
Years of Service - 2
And this year, the Republicans chose to abandon an incumbent with an ACU record of 58. That's the other Joe, Joe Schwarz; who lost his primary to a Club for Growth supported candidate.
Enjoy your newly found bi-partisan "friends" in the Republican party. When you are done, call Max Cleland and Jean Carnahan. Listen to their experiences with the Republican party and how it rewards bi-partisan behavior.
At least the Democrats were honest with you about why we reject you. I wouldn't expect the same from the Republicans when they do what they can to defeat you in the future (assuming you get to keep YOUR seat). Personally, I won't feel sorry for you when you are "rewarded" in the same manner as Sens. Cleland and Carnahan -- you chose to lie down with dogs, don't complain about the fleas.
