So much has happened during the past six weeks, my mind is in a fog. But am I correct that the White House has an "Office of Lessons Learned" somewhere deep within its bowels?
It's hard for me to imagine the words "Lessons" and "Learned" in the same sentence with this administration, so I couldn't be sure. To clear my head I Goggled "Office of Lessons Learned" and found...good heavens...there are Offices of Lessons Learned throughout our government.
As Dave Ross would do, let's say that again r e a l s l o w.
T h e O f f i c e o f L e s s o n s L e a r n e d
What in the hell have these offices been doing?
Yesterday we learned about "The Big One" - the "Bigger than 9/11 9/11" terrorist attack for which we've all been waiting and holding our collective breaths.
And the weapons of choice for this scheme? Liquid bombs.
Liquid Bombs! Like those liquid bombs we learned about back in 1996? Oh wait, that lesson was taught to those Clinton creeps, so there's surely nothing to be learned from that!
(Reminiscent of when Richard Clark was running around with his hair on fire about Bin Laden in early 2001 but was officially assigned to some other critical topic [probably something like "How to Blame Iraq for the yet-to-happen 9/11 attack!"])
And today, our fearless leader opens his big mouth and labels the world's entire Islamic population "fascists". Wouldn't you think that George learned to keep his lips firmly closed when he said that Bin Laden was "Wanted, Dead or Alive"? (Wait, early on in the Afghan adventure didn't we label a military offensive something that was "really offensive"...to our allies in that beleaguered state and, at the same time, play right into the Taliban's' hands?)
Sigh.
To whom do these Offices of Lessons Learned report?
Can we demand a report?
Who's in charge of determining what lesson we've learned?
And for God's sake...will someone PLEASE talk to George about what we've learned!!
So the question raised here is, how many other "Lessons Have We Learned" that we're ignoring?
