I feel really stupid and would appreciate a little help here.
AJ has posted a thoughtful piece over at Americablog and made the statement "In reality, Democrats have better ideas for fighting terrorism, both its practitioners and its root causes, and we're slowly but surely demonstrating this fact to the public."
I nodded my head while reading and then realized that I could not articulate what better ideas we have.
Maybe that's a problem for us Democrats. We say we have better ideas, and we nod our head in agreement that we do, but what are those ideas?
If this Lamont Democrat can't come up with a list, how can we expect less-informed voters to do any better?
Can you help me "fill in my talking points"?
Other than (1) get out of Iraq as soon as practicable, (2) spend money more wisely (how, specifically) on homeland security what other ideas do we have to fight terrorism?
Sorry to be so dense this afternoon.
Edit to Diary:
A more pointed question has come up in the comments: Which national Dem is articulating these ideas?
and I'll expand it a little further... who should be the most agressive spokesperson for these better ideas - someone who can/will hammer them over and over and over until people can recite them in their sleep so we don't have to go on the defensive on this question?
