Apparently, a Craig Foltin campaign staffer(R OH-13) named
Sean Hicks, inflitrated the Betty Sutton for Congress(D)campaign under an alias -well several alias and was easily caught. (He even signed an email in one name and sent it in another) Amusingly - he wore a Sutton campaign t-shirt to perfect the disguise.
What is pathetic about this is that the atmosphere of politics has been completely erroded by Karl Rove. Why did this kid think he needed an alias to ask Betty Sutton a question on a position? Why did he think he needed to inflitrate the campaign instead of attend the event? Why did he assume he needed to be underhanded? Why? Because he is playing for the team that made the most infamous underhanded political troll, Karl Rove, the WH Deputy Chief of Staff (and called him a genius to boot!) Let's look at Roves political roots:
In the fall of 1970, Rove used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Democrat Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Illinois State Treasurer, and stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead. Rove then printed fake campaign rally fliers promising free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing, and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters. Rove's role would not become publicly known until August 1973.
Yep, the new role model for the Young Republicans. I think, Karl Roves legacy is going to end up doing the GOP more harm than good. In the end, these clumsy attempts will become more and more frequent and further solidify the Republican reputation as corrupt, untrustworthy and underhanded. Good for them.

UPDATE: Redhorse is following this story and is hoping to get some photos of the "infiltrator" wearing Sutton campaign gear :-)
