After hearing some more drivel this morning from Sean Hannity, the idea of writing an open letter popped back into my head, and I decided to write it while I could still think of it, and before I had to leave for work.
Enjoy it after the flip....

Re: Your "criticisms"
Mr. Hannity, O'Reilly, Cavuto, and Gibson,
After hearing another strongly worded condemnation of Democrats on Mr. Hannity's show, I felt compelled to respond to each one of you, since all of you have been particularly harsh on Democrats while giving Republicans an easy pass.
Your constant accusations of Democrats being weak on national security ring hollow, especially since those you frequently call out by name in your accusations have real credentials on security. It's called military service. None of you served in war. None of you commanded soldiers. Men like John Kerry and John Murtha have. Col. Murtha served in the Marine reserves until 1990, the eve of Gulf War I, which he voted for, by the way. Lt. Kerry was thrice wounded in Vietnam, and volunteered for a war he disagreed with. You know what that is? It's patriotism, love of country, sense of duty. The only fighting you four have done is in front of a television camera in which you rant and rave until you're red in the face. You tussle it out in a world that is far disconnected from reality, while men like Murtha and Kerry defended it.
It seems particularly weak of you four to call people who have served in combat weak, given your paucity of service. And so many of the guests you have on are other politicians and pundits who avoided military service like the plague. This year there are fifty Iraq veterans running as Democrats. At last check, I only found three Republicans doing the same. Is our brave military now a "bastion of the loony, liberal left?"
Perhaps you should examine yourselves and the party you defend before you continue to lobby unsubstantiated criticisms. 65% of this nation wants us to either leave Iraq now or within a year. That number, by definition, has to include many Republicans, Republicans like the nine in Kansas who switched to becoming Democrats, including the man who was state chair of the GOP. Are they, too, weak on security and loony liberals? Hardly. Your theories scream 1970's talking points while ignoring the realities of today's Democratic party. While you decry Ned Lamont, you ignore his Republican past. While you scream about Cynthia McKinney, you ignore that the voters threw her out again. The difference between Republicans and Democrats in this era is that a Democrat will come out and say, "I screwed up, I made a mistake." For a Republican, they have to be convicted of federal offenses before making the same admission.
A real man will admit his mistakes. A coward points the finger at everyone else. A real man comes up with solutions, while a coward looks to someone else to do it for him.
You four are cowards. You have no shame, you have no guilt, you have no scruples, and you point the finger of traitor and unpatriotic at people who have done far more for America than you have ever dreamed of. It's about time for the four of you to admit you were wrong about some things, but I won't hold my breath waiting.
