I was reading through the article titled "The Kos Campaign" in New York magazine. In this article there's a quote saying:
"I think the Republican Party has few allies more effective than the Daily Kos"
This quote was referring to the Kos picking away at the Democratic party's centrist core.
The CJR daily says:
"A cynic with a sense of humor must wonder if Karl Rove is bribing the Daily Kos," adds Flares into Darkness. "Are they possibly the best of buddies? Markos Moulitsas and his radical friends cannot be effectively marginalized. This is virtually impossible in the age of the Internet. The young man can easily raise enough money to remain a serious player. This is great news for the Republicans. With enemies like the Daily Kos, who need any friends?" - CJR Daily
This kind of circular logic has to stop, I think it is damaging to how people think about politics. What the people who write this stuff don't see is that the future of democracy is the blogosphere. It doesn't do any good to only look at the temporary situation and see that the Daily Kos is moving the core of the Democratic Party to the left. Anyway, the Democratic party is too far to the right.
Besides those politicians who are savvy enough, know that they need to rely on the blogosphere. They don't whine about this.
The problem with circular logic is that it goes on forever and it's very speculative. You have to speculate to know if a Democratic blog is really helping the other team. All political parties are connected and somehow affect one another. Ralph Nader probably did help George Bush become the President. However this kind of looking back and trying to figure out who helped who has to stop. Political parties, even third parties, just have to stick to what they are and push as much as they can. Self-doubt is the Democratic parties biggest weakness.
Wanting to have anything to do with the center or the right is another weakness. I hate Joe Lieberman. I mean if he had some credentials, I wouldn't think so bad of him, but a scumbag like him is just worthless.
