Okay, I posted a short little blurb about a CNN article yesterday which had this quote:
"He does his homework. He works weekends. He works nights," Gen. Peter Pace said. "People can question my judgment or his judgment, but they should never question the dedication, the patriotism and the work ethic of Secretary Rumsfeld."
The short thread of responses which followed were so entertaining that I just had to list them all together. In each case, the logic used to critize Rumsfeld was a twisted version of the logic from the General in the CNN quote.
The rest is below the fold ----->
Jebus, nobody is saying he doesn't work hard, we just think he's incompetent. So maybe it would be better if he DIDN'T work so hard. Hard to Port
Funny thing is... imagine if these neo-cons said this in the business world... where they come from. "Oh, it's okay Johnny. You made a bad error on the stock market and lost our mutual fund 43.3 billion dollars... but you worked really hard at it and so we'll give you a promotion." Ryepower12
Actually, isn't this what the righty wingnuts used to go so ballistic on about the education system? You know, too much warm an fuzzy, gold stars for trying and all, and not enough accountability, not enough suck it up you wussy, why when I was a kid... you know the rest. Hard to Port
So this is an open call for more silly Rumsfeld critiques.
