Disney/ABC's decision to telecast "Path to 9/11" prompted consideration of what could done to derail this travesty.
Nothing, it appears.
So since Disney/ABC will proceed with this propaganda, I considered if I really needed a lot of Disney in my life.
The result is summarized in the following e-mail sent to Disney chief Robert Iger.
Dear Mr. Iger,
Disney/ABC's decision to present "Path to 9/11" - with its gross fabrications, distortions and pro-Bush Administration slant - has prompted some decisions of my own.
I plan to block Disney-owned channels on my satellite system, including ABC and the Disney children's networks for starters.
Disney entertainment products are no longer welcome in my home, including books, DVDs as well as the "Princess" product line that my seven-year-old daughter enjoys. She'll get over it.
Finally, my company has scheduled a business meeting at a Disney property this winter and I had planned to bring my family and stay a few extra days to enjoy the Disney theme parks.
I've cancelled those plans.
Disney has cast its lot with partisan Republicans -- who are temporarily in power -- along with extremist conservatives and radical Evangelical Christians. If you truly believe that you can run a successful company with that constituency, more power to you.
But as time goes on, I believe you'll find you made the wrong bet.
