I agree with the multiple diarists who have discussed this topic already that a boycott of Disney/ABC is the only way to make these corporations understand that the progressive community has teeth(economic clout) and that sycophancy towards the right wing is a poor business decision.
In order for this to work, it will take concerted effort as a community to identify the many tendrils of Disney/ABC and also to target their most vulnerable ventures. Even if PT911 runs, we should plan to boycott for two to three months to make a point and prevent events such as PT911 from happening again.
I would call on those with experience in organizing boycotts such as this to step forward and guide those of us who want to make a difference but do not have the wherewithal to lead such an effort.
However, all of us can start thinking and acting even now. In this spirit, I have compiled a list of movies by Disney or subsidiary studios that are currently or soon to be in the theaters. Of these, I think that "The Guardian" would be a particularly good target as it has gotten a great deal of pre-release advertising and it looks like they have spent a great deal of money making it. Also, Mel Gibson's film should not be seen as a matter of principle.
