This diary is gonna be short-n-sweet. I'd like to use it as a virtual gathering point for everyone who plans on going to any part of the
big DNC meeting this week (Feb. 10th through 12th) in DC. I went to the regional caucus in NYC without really knowing anyone in advance, so it was a bit lonely and boring. I'd love to meet up with fellow Kossacks!
The link above has contact info for the DNC's press office. I just spoke with someone there today (Parag) who said they are credentialing bloggers. As I did in NYC, I'm going as a representative of DailyKos. If you don't have a blog of your own but would still like to go as a blogger, I know that MyDD has been encouraging people to attend these events under the MyDD banner and then post diaries there afterward.
If you just want to attend as a member of the public, that SHOULD be possible as well - all DNC events are, according to the charter, open to the public. But because space is limited, it can be a bit of a challenge to get inside. I know that the folks from DrivingVotes had been in touch with the people running the NYC caucus and were told the entire group could go inside - only to find that their list had been "lost" by the time they showed up that morning. (Fortunately, I believe that they were all still able to get inside.)
I'm not sure exactly whom to contact if you want to attend as a "member of the public," but you can try the main number listed here. And if you're already planning on coming, post a comment below so we can all try to meet up!
