Last night, on Hardball, Chris Matthews tried to turn Felix Macaca's racism and embarrassment over his heritage against Jim Webb.
Hotline On Call has the scoop:
VA SEN candidate Jim Webb (D) was on "Hardball" and MSNBC's Matthews asked him: "Do you have paid bloggers and are they pushing this story about Allen's Jewish grandparent?"
Video is available at Hardball's webpage.
Webb's response after the fold.
Fortunately Webb didn't take Matthew's b.s. sitting down:
Webb: "I did not know that this would even be the subject of a discussion with you when I agreed to come on your show. Dick Waddams is part of a Karl Rove method of conducting political campaigns. He worked for Karl Rove for several years. This is clearly an attempt to turn something around onto us that has nothing to do with what we are doing in this campaign. This is absurd."
Webb's right, this is absurd. As usual, Chris Matthews is using his show as a vehicle for Republican talking points. The idea that Webb is paying us to hurt Felix is ridiculous. Senator Macaca is doing that to himself.
Email his show at hardball@msnbc.com and let Matthews know that he needs to give equal time to Felix's racist history and embarrassment over his heritage. Matthews also needs to apologize to Jim Webb for suggesting that his campaign is anti-semitic.
