OK so maybe Clark's domestic experience isn't the same as some others. But can some of you anti-Clarkies at least admit maybe you haven't given him as much credit as he deserves?

Concerning Clark and his domestic inexperience. Have you served in the military? I am a military wife of an active USAF member. The only time anyone pays any attention to us is when we are at war. After that everyone goes back to their own lives. I was in my thirties and very self suffient before I married. Military life sucks. You move every few years, usually, to the smallest of communities all over the US and Europe. We try to raise a family like everyone else but with little stability or income. Many actually qualify for welfare.
I have lived in CA, CO, MO, KS, OK and Germany. Rarely see family and we make friends in each of these communities. We send our children to their schools. We celibrate their achievements and work to change problems. We do community service, it's manditory. If you live on the base there are schools, grocery stores, construction, buidling, etc.. My point is he has domestic experience maybe not in legislation but providing the services.
Considering the state of our country now, I'm not to thrilled with the democrats in congress that have voted with the Bush administration. Politicians are concerned with there next election and if a vote could be used against them by the republican party, not what is best. Many have voted that way because Bush has paid them off, tacking some payoff that benefits their state on to the bill. Clark has lived in our cities and knows their problems because he lived it and raised his family.
I am not trying to change your opinion but I think finding out about a person and how they live gives you information but not if you don't know anything about it. Sorry, but I admire General Clark my husband served under him in Kosovo. He is genuine. He made sure minorities and women were always included in his group. Trust me, soldier's are not always caught from the same cloth. These are those who will protect their troops and those that just step on them on the way up. General Clark is a good man, he is pragmatic (which is why you have to read entire speeches not just sections) he has served this country for 34 years and the least we owe him is respect.
