Okay, I've gone through four of the five stages:
Denial - They can't be doing this!
Anger - Those b*st*rds!
Bargaining - I'll give Democrats money to stop this.
Depression - WTF! Nothing seems to do any good...
But I'm damned if I'll go to Acceptance.
What I'm going to to is:
It being Sunday, I'm going to send emails.
I'm going to start at the White House, work down to my Senators, my completely worthless Representative, and then I'm going to the Other Senators, every single one, and then I'll start on the Representatives. My Autofill is ready, my Sticky Notes are ready to be pasted in.
I'm going to keep it short and sweet.
I'm an American, and I'm against torture.
I might get a little jiggy, depending on whom I'm talking to, and I'm sure I'll get better as I go along. I will mention Feingold is right to call for censure.
Because I'm also going to send emails to every news show there is. I don't care if I watch it or not. They're getting an email if I can find an address. I'll go to Spotlight and find addresses!

I'm pretty broke, and up to here with the extra work I need to do to stay alive in Bush's America. I can't dump a tub of ice water on the President and hear what he has to say about that. But I can let the family wear the back-of-the-drawer underwear and skip laundry, so I can do this.
By the time today is done I'll have the phrases I need for a heckuva letter to the editor to our tiny local paper. And then I'll do that, too.
Because, when all is said and done:
I'm an American, and I'm against torture.
