I a moment of confusion I actually watched a couple moments of John Kasich "Heartland" on Fox tonight. I just saw Michael Sheuer, an ex-CIA, author of Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror, Chief of the bin Laden unit from 1996-1999 say twice that Clinton had bin Laden in the crosshairs several times in the late 1990's and refused to act.
Looks like some on Fox and elsewhere are going to serve as the GOP talking points for the Path to 9-11 movie. It seems to me if they can just place the ideas out there (doesn't matter if they are true or not) they will serve to stir up the Republican base. We have seen this before with the repetition of the Saddam Hussein linked to Al Quada, and the Swiftboaters.....
They are worried about their base not turning out so they appeal to emotions. On the recent interview of GWB by Charlie Gibson I was not surprised to see Bush adamant that the REpublicans will keep the House and Senate this fall. That is the same way he spoke in the fall of 2000 when the polls were saying he lost Florida but he was sure he had won...I can't help but think he has an inside line on this, like he knows the votes are rigged. Am I paranoid?
