I took a stop by the frameshopto see what's up with the buzzwords. We need a buzzword of our own. Plant the seed in the nation's mind. Why shouldn't Bush get to have privacy within his office when he does his job? Why is it important for Congress to oversee the operations of the executive branch? If these two values conflict, which should win, under what circumstances, and why?
I buried this in a thank you to Brad Miller. And he should be thanked! Because Congress needs to get busy or the idea of using agencies as a political hammer on us all will be legitimized.

Gestapoization: is One word for the sum total for why there is the need for Congressional oversight.
I welcome anybody else's better word for it.
Bush says he and his cronies need to be secretive in order to do their jobs, and he will go to court saying so. Opposing arguments will have to focus that his executive privilege is not there for the purpose of turning the justice department into a private Gestapo. So the courts need to compel testimony to facilitate Congressional oversight, or else the executive branch can turn the United States Department of Justice in Hitler’s Gestapo.
So I call what Bush is trying to do, working a process of Gestapoization. Yep, I’m sure someone could come up with something better. What, in one word or so, better describes our need for oversight in order to keep from turning our government into a big black bag crew?
Sloganeers, frame the debate!
