Is your idea of a good time a Archeological lecture, astronomical slide show, 'An Inconvenient Truth' house party screening, a poetry reading, political speech, or a panel discussion on world affairs? Do you struggle for excuses to bow out of a Madonna concert, dance party or a kegger?
Oh no, luv, you're not alone.
In this opening edition of 'Talk Nerdy to Me', I will offer you some fun nerdy events to attend.
I ask for your assistance in this endeavor. If you know of an event, please post it in the comments so that nerds, geeks and pointy-headed dabblers near you can make plans to attend.
For
poetry lovers, here is the
Poetry Flash schedule of CA poetry events. There are links to countrywide/worldwide writer's conferences and events. .
Archeology your passion? Try Archeological Institute of America for lectures near you.
If you just want to read a whole series of Astronomy lectures from the comfort of your home, check this out: Astronomy 162 Stars, Galaxies, and Cosmology for a sustained nerdy pj throbbing brain bonanza, (and possible butt numbing hours of obsessive reading).
If you're near Silicon Valley, Foothill College has a Astronomy series. Now there's a hot date right there.
History nerds can always find hours of brain food at Progressive Historians If any of you know of any History lectures, fork over the links

If you're in London, IHR can keep you busy.
OMG! Al Gore in SF! Sold Out Sigh. Maybe someone will have face value tickets outside. He_is_ a rock star these days, after all.
He'll be in Phoenix, AZ on 4/2, and Toronto on 4/28.
You can catch John and Elizabeth Edwards all over Iowa & NH.
Barack Obama too.I can't find any Hillary Clinton or Bill Richardson scedules of appearances, but if you're in IA or NH, I'm sure you can find them..
DFA is always busy, so check in on them regularly if
you want to get in on some grassroots action. DFA is always a good source of fun nerdy events.
Check in on the DNC from time to time. There's nothing like a Dean event to inspire political nerds. It's
like a political moshpit head banging experience.
