The Neuse River has been listed by American Rivers as one of the Top Ten Most Endangered Rivers in the US due to pollution impacts from Hog Farms and rapid development.
To bring maximum attention to this announcement, The Neuse River Foundation has just released a funny and powerful video of Wake County 6th graders demanding a call to action to save the Neuse River. "Give Me Back My River" delivers an urgent water protection message from the generation who will bear the brunt of this severely degraded natural resource.
North Carolina's General Assembly has been getting numerous calls due to this sad announcement, and the goal is for NC lawmakers to respond by supporting legislation to stop hog waste and stormwater pollution from destroying the Neuse River. Please watch it, and if you like it, please forward it around to others so this video will become a high priority video on You Tube.
