A great, yet short piece from the Washington Post discusses the breadth of coverage that the Edwards team has online. Within the article is a mention of, I think, the main reason that Edwards has shown up on not only YouTube and MySpace, but 43 Things, Twitter, Second Life, and more: Elizabeth Edwards.
As the article tells us, "When their teen-age son, Wade, died in 1996, Elizabeth Edwards turned to online support groups. A couple of years ago, staffers say she was the one who turned to her husband's team and asked, ‘What do you know about podcasting?’" I think most of us know that EE is likely to show up in any old thread, any old time – it’s part of the reason that EVERYONE loves Elizabeth, even if they don’t support John.
A tour of the Edwards online community after the break.
The social networks at the top are ones that I participate in as well, so I've pimped my IDs, feel free to join in and say hello. I didn't add a link to Second Life, since that isn't really something you can "link" into.

About the only place that I am a member that I don't see the Edwards campaign is Frappr (BlueNC Bloggers map here), which honestly has gone downhill since their "upgrades" sometime ago. OOPS! Actually, there is an old One America Frappr map still there, I guess it really isn't a social network...still, go join up!
Then, of course, there is the Edwards SOCIAL NETWORK - One Corps!
And that's not counting John Edwards One Corps, his own networking site that campaign officials say has 20,000 members and 1,200 chapters.
One Corps will be continuing its days of action, not waiting for the next election, not waiting for someone else to fix things, not hoping they will get better, but doing something to make them better.
On Saturday, May 19th, we will have our National Poverty Action Day.
May is going to be a great month in the effort to eradicate poverty.
On Saturday, May 12, letter carriers will collect non-perishable donations door-to-door as they deliver mail along their postal routes as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.
Then, on Saturday, May 19, John Edwards supporters nationwide will go out into our communities to collect canned goods for local food banks. We'll gather in front of supermarkets to catch shoppers on their way in and out and distribute information about John's plan to end poverty.
Join One Corps, help make a change, NOW.
