Having been raised in the south and lived here most of my adult life I have heard the expression, "he/she is just too stubborn to die." many times. This came to mind when I read about Newt Gingrich’s revelations that if Hillary or Obama look like they will be the Democratic nominee he will run. Only I would change it too, "he’s too stubborn to know that he has been reduced to a punch line." Not as catchy but accurate.
Newt said that "If, in mid-October, it's quite clear that one or more of the current candidates is strong enough to be a serious alternative to a Clinton-Obama ticket, you don't need me to run"
Need me to run? Need me? Newt, sir, you are a joke. You need to seek counseling. Your delusions of grandeur are showing. You are one of the archetects of the "perminant republican majority" but got ousted because you didn’t recognise that Tom Delay standing behind you with a knife was a bad thing. You are too stupid to not run. But I guess that’s ok, President Newt is only slightly less likely than president Paris Hilton.
Does he really think that the public so adores him that his very presence in the race would change the outcome? Mr. Gingrich is so out of touch that he thinks so. Therein lies the problem for the Republicans. They think that their views on everything from climate change to the war in Iraq are loved by one an all regardless of what the polls show. They think that there is a radical fringe that disagrees with them. The radical fringe makes up close to 60% of the population.
Run Newt, run, to the nearest psychologist. You need help.
