I know many of my fellow Kossacks hope that Hillary has begun her in inexorable fall, but even so, there is the glimmer of a possibility that she might be about to break 50 percent. A poll with a large sample has been released. It was taken over the weekend by USAToday/Gallup even as our fellow Kossacks met in Chicago. Taken between Friday and Sunday, the poll surveyed 1,012 adults and has a standard error of +/- 3 points.
The poll finds that Hillary is up eight points over her position three weeks ago:
Clinton 48
Obama 26
Edwards 12
In this poll, Obama has declined two points. The poll also found the Republican race to be stable:
Among Republicans, the race was stable: Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani at 33%, former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson at 21%, Arizona Sen. John McCain at 16% and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney at 8%.
