Good Morning, all. The premise is simple: post your pictures of food and farms, I'll tag them and store them in this photobucket account, and we can all use them for whatever we'd like.
There are plenty of picture resources for the enterprising Kossack. Renaissance grrrl tipped me off to a great collection of photos on the USDA website. You want food and farming? They got it. You want plants? They got those too.
So why build this collection of photos? Because we can.
I don't mean that in a busywork sort of way. I mean that we as a community are everywhere. We are in the cities and on the farms. We live in every city and town in America. Lots of us live on Route 9 between those towns. This collection of pictures is hopefully going to be a reflection of that.
So here's all that I ask: when you post a picture, tell me how you'd like it named and what's it it as specifically as you can. I'm happy to look around to try to type things, but if you know what type of field or cow or chicken it is, that'd be a great help.
As for myself, I'm a city mouse and my project for this coming week is to hit a farmers' market or two and hopefully the one down in Chinatown.
What are you folks looking at these days?
