Watching Markos on Meet the Press this morning, I see the mainstream -- both the press and the old school Democrats characterize DailyKos as though it is the editorial page of a newspaper and that each one of us shares everyone else's opinion.
DailyKos is not a newspaper. The views expressed here do not necessarily represent the founder, the posters, or the lurkers. They are the opinions of the individual.
Yet they continue to attack Markos because someone made a mean remark about someone else.
Why can't they understand that?
The MSM and DLC seem to think Markos should control the message.
This is such a metaphor for how the Party wants to control our candidates and their message. They want to avoid primaries and choose their own in-bred candidate who has "paid their dues" to the Party.
The netroots came in and, as Markos' said, "Crashed the Gate", and started to support candidates who were not the Party's pet candidates.
But we don't all walk in lockstep.
And isn't that Democracy?
Will Rogers had it right when he said: "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat."
They still don't get it, do they?
