in Middletown Ct. He spoke of change in the WH, and the uncertain economy, echoing that ill-phrased voodoo economics (that Bush 41 accused Reagan of and then followed his course). He cited the need for hard work, and and the certain great change Clinton and he had agreed on.
During some ooze and aahs, someone said, "Whoah, this man should be the one running for President!" Somebody else said "You think so?" To which another voice chimed in "Yes indeedy!"
After finishing his speech he made a path directly toward me, quickly shaking hands as he made his way for the Exit. As he passed by, I shook his hand as he went by. I said "Go Al go; good luck and could you bring Poetry back to the White House?'
People behind me laughed, but then there was a hush when he stopped and turned around. He smiled and said, " We shall bring poetry back, ha-haa-- we shall!"
He looked so serious, even studious, and years later I was not surprised to see and read of his accomplishments such as an Academy Award, and a nomination for the Nobel Prize. Yes, I often though that maybe that person who said that it should have been him running for President was in fact prophetic. Maybe not, but I hope he was.
What really angers me is how this zoo-media has treated him and others running. They think that can just put the candidates in a cage and make such asinine statements that make them sound like fashion sluts running for Prom Queen at Media Sucks U! And that goes for the Producers too.
This diary is because of what I read here yesterday in an excellent diary by someone I can't remember (I am so sorry but am just getting better from a bad dose of Lyme Disease. I tried to include this in a comment under that diary but it appears this laptop is still suffering from a virus too!)
