So there is a giant protest in DC with loads of people marching on the Capitol...by loads, I means reports of as high as 100,000 from the organizers and 10 of thousands reported by news agencies, and no estimate from the DC Police. That's a lot of people and certainly should be a major item in the news right? Let's tale a closer look at the big news sites, shall we...
CNN: Leads with OJ....protest is a lead sidebar...you have to be kidding me....OJ?!?!?
NYTimes...little line grabbed off of AP....maybe we'll see a blurb tomorrow?
Yahoo News...leads with how great Anbar Province is...little protest line hidden down page?
ABC News site...Same as Yahoo?
AP News...no mention...more tidbits about how great things are in Anbar
CBS News...little line says "War Of Anti-War, Pro-War Protesters"...other articles mention only a 1000 counter protesters..nice "War" considering they are possibly outnumbered by the genuine protesters 100 to 1!!!
Google News...not even mentioned on frontpage...WTF?
MSNBC...LEAD STORY...with a picture of boots on a flag-draped coffin
Fox News...drum rool, please....lead story with a picture of DC police beating up on protesters. Wasn't that image (along with Glenn Miller music) as Grandpa Simpson's requested final request before getting ready to be euthanized..."I want to see cops beating up Hippies to the big band sounds of Glen Miller"
So a quick roundup shows most sites ignore it, and two sites actually frontpage, but one does so in a fashion that automatically paints the protesters as violent.
Any bets on how prominent it will be tomorrow morning?
...and the term "Liberal Media" lives on....
