That is the question and this is not just a Shakespearean dilema - this is what is going through Al Gore's head right now, and if it's not then it should be.
Al Gore, you've had a great year. 'Inconvinient Truth' won 2 Oscars, you published 'The Assault on Reason' which became a Best Seller and has been called a "scathing indictment of the Bush Administration" it has also been called a "diagnosis of what ails American Democracy and what can be done to heal it" (mainly by me). Hosted Live Earth which was the most 'streamed' event in history. Won an Emmy for your channel Current. You have that whole Nobel thing in like 3 or 4 weeks. (Never Mind these things: Speech 1 Speech 2 Katrina Picture 1)
In conversations with people about you words like leader, visionary, enterprising, funny, visionary, precient, trustworthy, goracle, cassandra, come up which is great
So you are probably wondering what is my Point?
...
I think the question I want answered is, What is your point?
You have accomplished all this and changed the minds of millions of people on the climate crisis and not just that. Millions of others (like my dad) who voted for Bush know, with all certainty, that their vote in 2000 was a horrible, Horrible, horrible [I could continue] mistake.
Mr Gore, What was the point of working so hard on all this if you decide to not run for President. You have started this marathon running against a current of smears. The people are ready for the change but the government is still lagging behind, Our Dem "Leaders" included which ironically include our frontrunners, they are still afraid of the smears. You know how to take charge, you can show our Party the way,
Now time has come to culminate all you have worked so hard for and join this race.
You Once Said this:
"If the crib's on fire, you don't speculate that the baby is flame retardant. You take action."
now I say to you:
If Democracy is on Fire, You don't speculate, To Run or Not to Run. You Take Action!
