Last week I posted a Military Times poll showing the lack of military support for the war among active service in Iraq - http://www.militarycity.com/... Then today, Iraqi veterans and active service expecting to go to Iraq delivered an appeal for redress on the Capitol with more than 1000 signatures and another 1000 supporters that were afraid to disclose their names. Is this the start of the tipping point?
The text of the Appeal for Redress reads, "I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to support the prompt withdrawal of all American military forces and bases from Iraq. Staying in Iraq will not work and is not worth the price." The guys who actually delivered it called for Congress to cut off the war funding and were adamant that the military would know that it was not a lack of support for them but a lack of support for Bush
Let's see where Bush stands now - the American people? Not with him. The international community? Not with him. The U.S. Congress? Not with him. His own party? Not with him. And now, the guys fighting in Baghdad? Not with him, either. Not that he cares...
